E-BULLETIN #13 AUG 2007
NEWS
Darwin Festival buzz is in full swing where even those with a black belt in cultural spectatorship are having trouble keeping up with the exhibitions, theatre, performances (both premeditated and spontaneous), music, festival club, not to mention raving on to till early morn at SoCO Cargo. We had a great opening with over 350 people coming through the gallery doors on Sat 11 Aug as well as crowds in the lane who found themselves in the audience for Jill Orr’s performance A prayer.
Interpositions - a 24HR Art international performance event
If you weren’t able to drop every thing and follow the SMS announcements of spontaneous performances, you can view performances in retrospect via

Talitha & Hayley’s farewell drinks
Come down to the Ski Club after work this Fri (5ish) to toast Talitha Kennedy’s last day at 24HR Art and Hayley West leaving DVAA. Hayley is off to work at the Venice Biennale then visiting an enviable list of Europe art events followed by a string of residencies from Hill End NSW to Paris France, while Talitha is really only moving over a Darwin suburb or two to take over the reins at DVAA first week of Sept (but still deserves a toast).
Sounds Unusual Festival
Chill out zone after the Darwin Festival hype with new music events in Alice and then Darwin. Make sure you work up your ears into action with your very own copy of the sampler CD - background sound with aural gymnastics! still some available at 24HR Art, DVAA, Jackson’s, Greenie’s and other spots in Alice Springs. Check out the website for program and news
